Wishes for the New Year
In our culture many people use the beginning of the calendar year to set personal goals. While any time can be a good time to decide to replace a poor habit with a good habit, it may be easier to start now when so many friends and relatives are also changing. In what ways would you like to be different at the end of 2010 than you are today, and what would you be willing to do to make the change happen?
Merry Christmas!
Hope you are having a peaceful holiday. Let me share a thought with you from the book I'm reading: The Tangible Kingdom by Walter and Smay: "The missional part was Jesus leaving his Father's side in the heavens and coming to us in the form of a human. The incarnational part was how he took on flesh and lived with us. Said another way, missional sentness is focused on leaving and everything related to going, but incarnational represents how we go and what we do as we go."
Try a small group - its your last chance in 2009!
Here's your chance to try a small group. Join us at 11:30 AM Sunday December 13 for lunch, we're having chili, and then explore the small group that meets at the building. We will be discussing the Gospel of Mark chapter 7 beginning with verse 14. You don't need any Bible knowledge to participate. You can come and listen or you can come and join the conversation. This is a great way to connect with a small group of people, make friends and learn more about God. Hope to see you there!
