Incarnational Living

We had a good meeting with Gailyn and Becky Van Rheenan on Sunday, November 1.  The Van Rheenan's challenged us to think more about what God wants for New Heritage, than what we want NH to be.  The story of God's dealing with man since the fall in the garden is the story of God coming to our world over and over again and calling "where are you?"  A few men and women hear that call, and God sends them to connect with a few people, who connect with a few people, who connect with a few people...and these "called out" people live under the reign of God.  Figuring out where NH fits into this pattern of God's calling and sending, and how will we individually live out this mission of God are the basic questions we've been discussing this fall.   I think Richard described us well when he said that NH has been a "pioneer" church, which to me means that we have been willing to think in new ways, to try new things, to go wherever God seemed to be directing us.  It seems to me that one set of decisions we have to make is will we continue to be pioneers or will we be settlers?  I think I sense both sentiments in the conversations I am hearing.  It is important to make your voice heard in this conversation, so let's hear from you.
