Our Story

• Past... In the fall of 2002, over 30 Christians from around North Texas: Allen, Frisco, McKinney, Plano, Sherman, and Wylie, began acting on their dream of being a new kind of Christian community. A Christian family dedicated to a growing faith in God and Christ, filled with the Spirit of God and committed to the truths of the Bible. A Christian community without the look and feel of institutional religion.
• Present... We are creating a community where you can pursue your faith and spiritual growth in the way we believe God intended. We are a family of God who will honor your religious heritage, but not let that heritage limit your walk with God. Your heritage, coupled with the new inheritance given by Christ to all believers, creates a new heritage in Christ. At New Heritage we are serious about becoming the very image of Jesus.
• Future... Our mission is to be a faith community where you can grow as you journey with God; allowing Him to change you daily to be more like Jesus. As a family, we want each of us to discover our gifts and to find creative ways to serve the kingdom of God in Collin County, Texas and the World.

As a family of God, we are:

• Christ Centered- In the first century, the resurrected Jesus was the center of every Christian's mission, message, and personal conduct. New Heritage desires to make this behavior a reality today by trusting the Spirit in us to guide our mission, message and conduct.
• Bible Based- We believe that an individual's knowledge of God, Jesus and the Spirit can best be found in the pages of the Bible. While God can reveal himself in many ways, he is most perfectly revealed in Jesus and Jesus is most clearly revealed in the Bible. For this reason, Bible study is an important part of our lives.
• People Focused- We want to have great relationships with our family and friends in our communities. We believe our relationships are the foundation of our mission to introduce others to our risen Lord. At New Heritage, every member is a minister, regardless of age, gender or race.
• Mission Minded- We have been greatly blessed as a nation, community and body of believers. We desire to spread and share those blessings with others. We will plant other communities of faith, not only in North Texas but also around the world.
